Weka on the Cullen Point Coastal track; Pelorous Sound; Kaikoura -- wet and very windy (photos taken on day winds reached 290 kph on east coast).

Fernbird: According to DOC, fernbirds are rarely seen because of their secretive behaviour and excellent camouflage.
